New Jersey
Barnegat Bay North (49 Miles)
Exploring the northern portion of Barnegat Bay, this trail goes from Bayville, in the south, to Bay Head Harbor, in the north. Optional trips into the bay's main feeders are also included: Toms River, Kettle Creek, and the Metedeconk River. This trail can be combined with the "Central" bay trail listed below to make for a more epic day.
Barnegat Bay South (38 Miles)
This trial offers a cruise of the lower portion of Barnegat Bay into the upper end of Little Egg harbor. Or, when added to the north and central Barnegat trails, completes a long day of cruising the entire bay.
Delaware Punch NJ (145 Miles)
Here's another version of the "multi-state" Delaware River, with this trail originating on it's northern terminus near Burlington. It's a two tank ride, but food is found on either end with fuel near the center. Finally, don't forget your camera for this POI filled voyage.
Hackensack River to Liberty Island (48 Miles)
This trail basically circumnavigates Jersey City by way of the lower Hack, through Newark Bay, and then into the Upper Bay. The entire trail is less than a tank, but fuel can be found in the Upper Bay where more water awaits.
Lake Hopatcong (20 Miles)
The NJ page just wouldn't be complete without showcasing the state's largest inland lake. What this shoreline cruise lacks in distance it more than makes up for in waypoints. Summer weekends and holidays will bring out the local heavy traffic and speed restrictions - make your plans accordingly.
Mullica, Wading, & Bass Rivers (52 Miles)
Here's another opportunity for some coastal NJ river riding. This trail offers multiple inland launch facilities with an option for hitting the open waters of the Great Bay. As usual, wind and tide will both play a part in maximizing your efforts for enjoying what this trio of rivers has to offer.
NJ to Ocean City, MD (238 Miles)
With a jump-off point anywhere in the Barnegat Bay are, this trail can certainly close out near 300 miles round trip. As the ride takes place on both the outside and inside waters, you'll encounter every type of liquid surface possible. Carefull planing and fair weather will make this a memorable event worth making.
Raritan Bay North & West (56 Miles)
This ugly "crows foot" of a trail includes the Arthur Kill and Rahway rivers in the north and the Raritan and South rivers in the west. While the tour itself is industrial in nature, the antique wrecks lining the Arthur Kill more than make the trip worthy. Dont forget your camera!
